Diesel fuel injection systems store fuel under very high pressure and inject it directly into the combustion chamber of each cylinder. In common rail systems, fuel is constantly pressurised in a shared “rail” and delivered electronically through solenoid or piezo-controlled injectors. The ECU controls injection timing, duration, and pressure for optimal performance.
