Performance Exhaust Systems and Why you need one?
An aftermarket performance exhaust system is usually one of the first steps to achieve extra power/torque and reduce fuel costs for a diesel vehicle. Installing a performance exhaust on your diesel vehicle doesn't only increase performance and fuel economy but it also allows the engine to breathe better.
When vehicle manufacturers design exhaust systems for their vehicles they need to account for a worldwide market. This means meeting stricter emission rules and regulations in regions such as Europe and America. Manufacturers also need to ensure the vehicle is quiet and appeals to the largest customer base possible. Components put in place to reduce emissions like Diesel Particulate Filters, Mufflers and Catalytic Converters are restrictive to the exhaust flow and therefore the performance of the vehicle. These restrictive measures can also cause higher EGT's (Exhaust Gas Tempratures) and higher EGT's can reduce the life of the engine.

You can expect to see an improvement in fuel economy and between a 20-35% increase in power (horsepower) and torque (nm) with an exhaust system fitted and a United Fuel Injection Dyno Tune or Ecu Remap to compliment the exhaust system.
